‘Monumental’ showcases the skills of Spaghetti Circus’ talented performance troupe in a huge new production that has something for everyone.
Watch these fabulous performers aged from 12-21 years fill the space from floor to ceiling and windows to walls with an array of phenomenal circus skills. Accompanied by a live band playing a selection of instruments including violin, guitar, piano, melodica and voice come and see Spaghetti Circus take over the Brunswick Picture House like you haven’t seen before.
“Monumental has grown out of a place of wanting to recognise the people that get overlooked in our society’s celebrations. The unsung heroes, the people who have said “I can do this” even if they were told they couldn’t,” says ‘Monumental’ director Spenser Inwood.
“We’ve been talking to the kids about their own monumental moments, big decisions in their lives and how they got to those decisions. We’ve looked at the hoops you have to jump through and the roadblocks along the way. We have also explored the monumental fails that need to occur to learn and grow.”
‘Monumental’ explores these themes by building monuments, metaphorically and literally with their bodies. Don’t miss your chance to see this original circus work made locally by our region’s talented young people.
