Founded in 2010 the Byron Bay Surf Festival showcases core and creative surf culture by presenting innovative and experiential ideas through unique and engaging experiences.

The multi-day festival activates several events including surfing, art, music, film, special guests and environmental aspects with an awareness and focus on sustainability, education and innovation.

The Byron Bay Surf Festival has been proud to be declared a Deep Blue Event, (waste free), a 1% For The Planet member, and has a clear path towards reducing environmental and community impacts through education with a curated festival of likeminded vendors and special guests.

Cosmic Creek is back for another year! Join us and the Vissla crew on Saturday, August 26 for another epic day of surfing 🪐⚡️

The annual surfing event was initiated and is still run by Californian surf industry veteran Eric Diamond, who will be in attendance at Byron Bay along with a host of surfers and shapers to help celebrate the 25th anniversary of Cosmic Creek.

Participants in Cosmic Creek ride supplied boards shaped up to 50 years ago by some of the region’s iconic shapers, including Bill Wallace, Gunther Rohn, Dick Van Straalen, Geoff McCoy, Tony Dempsey, Hayden Kenny and Chris Brock.
The event is to take place a Clarke’s Beach at the end of Byron Bay’s iconic The Pass point break on Saturday 26 August during the Byron Surf Festival celebrations.
