Bangalow Bush Tucker Tour
Jingi Walla – Welcome!
On this tour, Delta Kay takes guests along the stunning Byron Creek, located within Bangalow Parklands. Once an old grazing land, thankfully the Anglican church in partnership with Bangalow Land and Rivercare Group have regenerated this area with hundreds of native plant species that are really important to Bundjalung people.
During the tour, Delta points out a variety of these edible bush tucker plants, as well as plants used for natural medicine, jewellery, fibre, tools and weapons. She speaks about local indigenous history and shares traditional stories that have been passed down to her from her ancestors.
There are opportunities to learn some Bundjalung language and we are sometimes lucky to see Binging the river turtle or Junbung the platypus.
At the end of each tour, guests enjoy tasting a variety of delicious bush tucker foods and have nice cup of bush tea and a biscuit.
Meeting Place
This tour takes place at Bangalow Weir Parklands (Deacon St, Bangalow NSW 2479). The meeting place is beside the large toilet block.

The Bangalow Market
The Bangalow market has a fabulous variety of everything you could ever want to find at a market from food to clothes, to home wares to jewellery to psychics to candles to plants and garden decorations plus more and is situated on beautiful grounds which are dominated by eleven huge camphor laurel trees providing welcome shade and a magic forest atmosphere. On the 4th Sunday of each month from 8am - 230pm this is the market to not miss. Next market is Sunday August 24, 2025.
