The Ocean Shores Art Expo is on again this coming November and its theme is Myths & Stories.
The Art Expo is a true community event for the Shire, bringing people together for a sense of belonging in this creative, fun and inspiring weekend which has become a regular feature on the local Byron Shire calendar.
Every year it expands, with over 300 adult artworks and nearly 400 student works in the 2023 Expo. The Ocean Shores Art Expo has also attracted over 1000 visitors to the exhibition and cultural performances in past years and we are expecting the same numbers at this year’s Expo.
Anyone is welcome to enter artworks – from professional artists to beginners, from kids to elderly. Every year, new and independent judges select winners in six categories and are announced at the opening night. The categories are:
- Watercolour & Gouache
- Printmaking, Drawing & Pastels
- Oil & Acrylic
- Mixed Media
- Sculpture / 3D art
- Photography & Digital Art
The Expo will be held at the Ocean Shores Community Centre in Rajah Rd over three days. Art lovers and buyers can appreciate and buy affordable art from a huge variety of styles, sizes and prices. During the weekend there will be local musicians performing and artists demonstrating. All welcome!
