Vision Walks – Platypus Walk
See Platypus in their natural habitat
It is possible to see platypus at any time of the day, but our best chance is just after dawn.
We pick you up from your Byron Bay accommodation and drive to the special platypus area. From there we start our 90-minute easy walk along the creek looking for platypus.
Your guide will lead you at a gentle pace, showing you what to look for and sharing insights about this much-loved and quirky Australian animal.
We usually see one or two platypus, loads of birds and sometimes even koalas. After watching the platypus have their breakfast we relax with ours – a picnic by the creek – before returning to Byron Bay.
We can’t guarantee platypus sightings on this tour, but don’t worry. If we don’t see them we take you on another day, free.

As with all our our eco tours, we request that you try and wear dark clothing if possible. We don’t draw attention to ourselves, to the wildlife that we are trying to see.
