Project Description

Circus Arts Byron Bay

This month is literally buzzing with all sorts of exciting events that are not to be missed even if you live out of town. Plus we love welcoming all of our students in our Byron venue!

We are kicking off with the Flying Trapeze Intensive on 11 – 13 June. This one booked out so quickly that we scheduled another one on 18 – 20 June.

Then we have the Aerial Intensive led by the amazing Moira Campbell and Tanja Bilaniwskij. You can join this intensive regardless of your skill level – beginners are very welcome – and we are so excited to see the creative process that goes on during the photo shoot at the end!

In the midst of it all, we are running Stage 1 of the Flying Trapeze Coaching Course. If you have done a few flying trapeze classes and fell in love with it and would like to make it your job, then this course is for you. We will teach you everything you need to know to become a flying trapeze coach.

And to wrap it all up, we are finally putting on a Circus Show to celebrate our amazing students, and just because we are all hungry for a good night of entertainment and fun!

DATE: 12 – 14 JUNE 2021

Get ready for an amazing three days of training in the beautiful Byron Bay!
Our 3 day aerial intensives run only 3 times a year and offer a unique opportunity to  immerse yourself in the world of aerials. Training is conducted in our indoor 1200sqm facility and focuses on skill development and creativity.

Participants will get a chance to train on a variety of apparatus, including silks, static trapeze and double trapeze, lyra and double lyra, spanish web and more.  Self-training on rope, spiral, teardrop, tumble track and hula hoops is included during the intensive.

Each intensive includes a professional photo shoot where participants get to express their creative side and the new tricks learned over the weekend of training.

Did you know that you can be a beginner flyer yourself and still do the Flying Trapeze Coaching Course? If you ever wanted to become a flying trapeze coach, then sign up and start a new adventure with us!

We have scheduled an additional Stage 1 course in June and it’s a great opportunity to take the first step towards your new dream job. We will teach you all the basics you need to know in Stage 1 and once you have completed Stage 2 you will be ready to coach a class!

15 – 18 June 2021
This course is aimed at people who are interested in flying trapeze and looking at taking their first step toward working as a trapeze coach. Participants will be introduced to the different aspects of flying trapeze coaching, including board, ground, basic safety lines, and catching.

11 – 13 JUNE 2021 [FULL] 18 – 20 JUNE 2021 [6 SPOTS LEFT]
Our Flying Trapeze Intensive filled up before we got a chance to spread the word about it, so we have scheduled another one and hope that if you put your name on the waiting list, the new date suits you.

This intensive is for intermediate to advanced flyers who are already comfortable swinging out of lines. Lead by trainer Scot (Ted) Tornaros, the weekend includes an in-depth analysis of swing techniques, tricks, catches and returns.

In addition to traditional flying, participants are also invited to try their hand at double lane flying, cradle and top catch training. All classes will be recorded on video to assist you in analysing and improving your tricks.

Watch your technique improve over just 3 days as you train with others at the same skill level and receive intensive guidance from some of Australia most advanced flying trapeze coaches. Unlimited use of the facility for self-training on various apparatus is included in this intensive.
