Northern Rivers Rail Trail

Ride through the lush and picturesque Northern Rivers hinterland, native rainforests, quaint villages and a 520m long tunnel over the 24 kilometre Northern Rivers Rail Trail.

Better By Bike provides high end E-Bikes and return shuttles to and from the spectacular rail trail making the ride suitable for all ages – couples, families and groups.

The self-guided experience starts with a pick up in either Byron Bay, the Tweed or Kingscliff area and offers two different trips.

Option 1: Ride one way from Crabbes Creek to Murwillumbah train station which is 24 km. Duration is 1.5 to 3 hours depending on the number and length of stops.

Option 2: Return journey to the pickup point in Mooball which is a total 45kms. Duration 3 to 5 hours depending on the number and length of stops.

The bikes come fully set up and include :
Giro helmets for your safety
Gel seat for comfort
Panniers to carry your stuff,
Light for the tunnel,
A map and bike lock
A personalised for fit to ensure you have a great ride.

Before you set off on the trail you will be given a safety briefing and operating instructions for your bike. Children can do the trail with extra small E-bikes or tag ride-along bikes or a tag ride-along chariot and for infant’s there is a baby seat option available.

The ride tour is fully supported by Better By Bike staff who can assist on the rail trail with replacement bikes if needed.
