ARIA nominated world-roots-jazz quartet The Vampires bring their risk-taking improvisation, sophisticated compositions and an uncanny sense of dialogue. Featuring Nick Garbett and Jeremy Rose, also known as the horn section for The Strides, and bassist Alex Boneham, returning to Australia for his first tour since studying at the Monk Institute in Los Angeles with the likes of Herbie Hancock and Wayne Shorter.
The band has developed a style of its own that effortlessly combines influences from all corners of the world. The band collaborated with one of the jazz world’s most talked about guitarists, guitarist Lionel Loueke for their latest release The Vampires Meet Lionel Loueke, which has been internationally acclaimed, nominated for an ARIA Award and a finalist in the Australian Music Prize, alongside Paul Kelly, Jen Cloher and 6 others – the first instrumental jazz album to be shortlisted in the 13 years this award has been running.
Nick Garbett (trumpet), Jeremy Rose (saxophones), Alex Boneham (double bass), Alex Masso (drums)
