Welcome to the first break of day in 2019 at the most easterly point of Australia’s mainland. First Sun, Byron Bay’s New Year’s Day event, is held at the Cape Byron Lighthouse from 5am to 8am.

This family-friendly event offers the chance to start the new year with the conscious intention of peace, health and happiness.

Meet at Clarkes Beach carpark from 4am for a guided walk departing at 4.15am. For those unable to walk up to the lighthouse, free shuttle buses will operate between 4.30am – 8.30am.
