Brookie’s, Bees & Cheese Workshop – a Native bee workshop, paired with local cheese and cocktails
Join us in celebrating some of the hardest working locals here at Cape Byron Distillery, our Native Australian stingless bees.
Our hives were originally erected on the property to help increase the pollination of our macadamia orchard and our regenerating rainforest. The bees not only play an integral role in keeping our unique forest happy and healthy but they also produce a delicious honey-like bi-product called sugar bag, high in medicinal qualities and packed full of flavour.
Join us from 2:30pm onwards on Sunday, November 3rd while our apiarist Steve Maginnity shares his knowledge of best practice when caring for your bees and harvesting their sugar bag.
You will learn:
- What to plant for happy bees
- How to care for your native bees
- How to harvest native bee honey
- How to create cocktails using Brookie’s spirits and sugar bag
To curb your hunger, drinks will be paired with offerings from local cheesemaker, Deb Allard of Cheeses Loves You.
Tickets are limited, so get in early to see what all the buzz is about.
