DESCRIPTION:The Redgum Years starring John Schumann and the Vagabond Crew hits The Byron Theatre and tickets are available now. \nIt’s 2023. John Schumann\, the voice of the legendary Australian folk-rock band Redgum and writer of the iconic anthem\, ‘I was only 19’\, is contacted via Messenger and Facebook by fans from all over Australia. Many of these emails come from people who were kids back then. As adults\, they’ve come to understand the Australianness and the important messages about justice\, fairness\, compassion and the need to care for country. \n‘The Redgum Years’ owes its existence to the Vagabond Crew who were able to persuade John to revisit the catalogue\, to play the songs and to tell the stories in a special tribute concert. ‘The Redgum Years’ first appeared in the Adelaide Fringe in 2021. Three sell-out shows\, lengthy waiting lists and standing ovations – it was a Fringe hit. People flew in\, quite literally\, from all over Australia. \nDuring the Covid pandemic\, John and the band took it to Melbourne in 2022 and sold out 3 shows. \n“The Vagabond Crew is a world-class\, 7-piece band. I’d line this band up against any band in Australia\,” John said. “More importantly\, we’re all mates – obvious when we’re on stage.” \nThe Redgum Years is a concert of songs and stories for the true believers. \nIt’s for their kids. One thing that has not changed is the selection of incredible regional restaurants\, brewers\, distilleries\, artisans and producers who always put on an impressive array of tasting plates and refreshments to satisfy even the most discerning palettes. \nPre-sale tickets are now on sale for the 11th Annual Festival including limited capacity picnic experiences. The picnic tickets are on offer for groups of up to six and include festival entry and a reserved picnic spot within the restaurant precinct on a Wandering Folk picnic rug. DESCRIPTION:2023 sees the much loved  Nimbin Performance Poetry World Cup celebrating its 20th anniversary.  Featuring 36 outstanding poets from around the country – Tasmania\, Victoria\, Queensland and NSW\,  the performance poets will be initially grouped into four heats of eight poets starting at 10.30am on Saturday 2 September. \nSunday 3 September you can watch two semifinals with eight poets in each semifinal. This is a brilliant short documentary about Australia as the driest inhabited content on earth and explores Australia’s deserts and arid landscapes to discover some of the plants and wildlife that inhabit Australia’s Outback- many of which you’ll find at Byron Bay Wildlife Sanctuary. \nAt 6:30pm the feature presentation of children’s film\, Fern Gully: The Last Rainforest will begin. Perkins contacted the hospital’s management team offering his support & has played a central role in the ideation & creation of Wild Aid\, 2023. \nPerkins will reunite with original band members Dan Rumour\, Jim Elliott and Ken Gormly for the tour. These tastings lead up to the fabulous annual Northern Rivers Food Harvest Food Trail\, which will take place over four days in 2024\, from 23 May to 26 May. \nStarting with\, naturally enough\, breakfast….our first Taste the Harvest event features the extraordinary food and beverages of three of Northern Rivers Food’s finest member producers: \nBrookfarm will be offering free samples of its famous award-winning premium macadamia muesli.\nNimbin Valley Dairy will be offering free samples of its divine Pot Set Natural Yoghurt\, and\nZentveld’s Coffee Farm & Roastery will be offering free samples of their superb\, locally grown Arabica coffee and chocolate coffee beans! \nAll three producers will also have their products available for sale. \n‘Taste the Harvest’ will take place from 10am-12.30pm on Thursday 30 November at Byron Visitor Centre in Railway Park\, 80 Jonson Street\, Byron Bay.  Come along\, join in the fun and savour the taste.
