While no artists have been announced for the 18th annual Splendour In The Grass just yet\, one may have outed themselves during an interview with Music Feeds back in November. \nLast year’s Splendour lineup featured the likes of The xx\, Queens Of The Stone Age and LCD Soundsystem\, and the 2018 lineup is expected to be announced in March.

DESCRIPTION:2018 Ballina Food and Wine Festival  \nBACKGROUND  \nThis will be the 9th festival run by the Rotary Club of Ballina-on-Richmond. It is a multi-day event comprising of 2 different events over 2 days. Asahi – After Dark Gala Dinner\, Friday 29th June 2018\, Ballina RSL Club Main Festival Day\, Sunday 1st July 2018\, Ballina Jockey Club Each year the proceeds of the festival are donated to worthy causes both local community and international projects. This year we will be supporting the Ballina Shire Rural Fire Services\, a vital community asset. There are five Rural Fire Service (RFS) Brigades across the shire consisting of Alstonville\, Lennox Head\, Meerschaum Vale\, Newrybar and Wardell. While our Festival provides financial support for one major beneficiary\, we also support a number of other charities and organisations. \n  \nMain Festival Day – Sunday 1st July 11am-5pm \nBallina Jockey Club At the Ballina Jockey Club\, features exhibitors\, information sessions\, demonstrations and quality entertainment. Entry is strictly over 18 years only\, photo ID required. Cottage industries will showcase their wonderful products. Local restaurants will cook their signature dishes for patrons to sample with tasting plates available for purchase. A variety of wines\, craft beers\, ciders and spirits will be available to sample and glasses and bottles of wine\, beer and ciders are available to purchase to enjoy on the day or to take home. Winemakers and brewers are on hand to talk about products and share their knowledge at information sessions\, which will be conducted throughout the afternoon. This is a unique opportunity to interact with the experts and sample the very best rich reds\, elegant whites\, and craft beers. \n  \nEntertainment \nWe have a great line up of talent playing at the festival this year. \n• DIESEL – Distinctive guitar playing and vocals\, Diesel is one of Australia’s favourite artists who has been making music spanning 30 years. With over 35 singles\, 16 albums and 6 ARIA awards\, DIESEL is a journeyman of music. \n• Jed Zarb – Jed is “A ONE-MAN BAND”. Jed has developed a unique show that involves acoustic guitar\, electric guitar and sax. His multi-instrumentation allows a variety of sounds and styles. From rich heart-felt ballads to rock\, pop and the blues\, from John Denver to The Black Keys\, Jason Mraz to INXS\, Neil Diamond to Kings of Leon\, Jed will play your song! \n• Blake Tailor – Blake takes inspiration from his family and the work he does with adults with disabilities as a Music facilitator at Studio Artes. His songs come from personal struggles and triumphs\, leaving you breathless at every live show. \n  \nCooking Demonstrations \nThere will be cooking demonstrations using fresh local produce. Otis infuses his own traditional indigenous culture with contemporary Australian surf. \nTIM KERR\nBased in Austin Texas\, Tim Kerr became involved musically and artistically with the early stages of the DIY (Do It Yourself) punk/hardcore/self-expression movement in the 1970’s. The idea that anyone could\, and should participate in self-expression is key to Tim’s approach to music and visual art. \nOZZIE WRIGHT\nAustralian professional surfer\, artist\, filmmaker and musician Ozzie Wright is renowned for his radical surfing innovation and punk rock aesthetic.
