SUMMARY:A Monet in Murwillumbah: Sharing the National Collection
DESCRIPTION:Between 1890 and 1891\, Monet painted his Haystacks series exploring the nuances of light\, shade\, tone and colour across the seasons and at different times of the day. Meules\, milieu du jour [Haystacks\, midday] 1890 is a glorious work from this series\, filled with dazzling light and luminous colour. \nPurchased in 1979 by the National Gallery of Australia\, Canberra\,  Meules\, milieu du jour [Haystacks\, midday]\, is one of five works shared with the Tweed Regional Gallery as part of the National Gallery of Australia’s Sharing the National Collection initiative. The Sharing the National Collection initiative sees major works of art from the National Gallery of Australia’s collection exhibited across regional and suburban communities. \nThe Monet is available to view at the Tweed Regional Gallery in Murwillumbah for the duration of 2024. \nJoining the Monet from Saturday 2 March 2024 are three works by iconic Australian artist Margaret Olley\, along with a painting by one of Olley’s favourite artists\, Giorgio Morandi. The additional four works from the National Gallery of Australia’s collection are on display at Tweed Regional Gallery until 2029. \nFor more information

SUMMARY:Understory - a theatrical adventure | Lismore Rainforest Botanic Gardens
DESCRIPTION:Understory is a magical\, interactive theatre adventure created and presented for children by Roundabout Theatre\, springing to life in the Lismore Rainforest Botanic Gardens this April school holidays. \nHave you heard fungi talk? Have you felt the forest hum? \nPart theatre\, part quest and part wacky science field trip\, Understory is made to inspire children aged 7-11 years with a deep curiosity\, wonder and connection to the natural world. The entire Hoop Pine Forest at Lismore Rainforest Botanic Gardens will become an enchanting theatrical world brought to life by an original story that is both fantastical and based in science and ecology principles. \nThe Understory quest begins from the moment a ticket is purchased. An invitation is sent to your child (via email to parents/carers)\, inviting them to be ‘Wonderers’ and outlining the adventure ahead. Roundabout Theatre has also developed a highly interactive website at www.understory.roundabout.net.au to accompany the show. Parents and carers are encouraged to direct their children to the email and the website before they arrive at the show\, so they are informed on how to be part of the Understory adventure. \nTwo shows daily | 10am-1130am and 230pm-4pm \nFor more information and to book  \n
