SUMMARY:Cheeky Cabaret | Brunswick Picture House
DESCRIPTION:After the biggest Cheeky season to date\, Brunswick Picture House is celebrating by offering another big run of an all-new Cheeky Cabaret.  The reputation of this outrageous genre-bending show has spread like wildfire with its often weird and always fabulous line-up and is without question the wildest night of entertainment you’ll have in the Northern Rivers! \nCheeky Cabaret  has redefined a night out at the theatre\, smashing together circus\, vaudeville\, comedy\, new burlesque and everything in between. The Cheeky features a different cast of troubadours\, miscreants\, delectable divas and cabaret queens every season\, so no two shows are ever the same! You’ll leave spellbound\, titillated and amazed. \nThink you’ve seen it all?! Think again… as here in this unlikely little venue is where the magic really happens. \nAND ONE MORE THING…\nThe Cheeky may contain some brief or full nudity\, raucous adult language and highly suggestive or sexual humour. The acts are never gratuitous or in vain; they are intended to titillate\, to make your jaws drop\, and always to entertain\, with tongue firmly planted in cheek. A variety show like the Cheeky means that there is something for everyone\, and conversely\, some acts may not be to your liking. You may wish to cover your eyes or your ears\, but never ever don’t at least give the Cheeky a try! \nAs always\, bring Grandma but leave the little ones at home. \nPlease note: \nAudience must be 15yrs+\nThe show is approximately 90–100 minutes with 20-minute intermission.\nDoors open 20 minutes before showtime. \nDays and times are: \nThursday 7pm\nFriday 7pm\nSaturday 4pm and 7pm\nSunday 6pm \nDates are: \n22-24 September\n28 September – 1 October\n5-8 October \nTo purchase tickets: \nhttps://brunswickpicturehouse.com/cheeky-cabaret-21-24-28-30-sep-1-5-8-oct/

SUMMARY:Italian Film Festival | Palace Cinemas
DESCRIPTION:Twenty four years ago after realising that Australia had many film festivals\, but nothing dedicated to Italian cinema Antonio Zeccola\, owner of Palace Cinemas\, started The Italian Film Festival in November 2000 in Sydney and Melbourne.  It was a resounding success. \nFast forward to 2023 and Australia’s annual celebration of Italy’s best and brightest on the big screen will be opening in Byron Bay at the Palace Cinema\, Jonson Street on 28 September and running until 18 October. \nOpening  with The Last Night of Amore\, get ready to be treated to a taut\, stylish crime thriller set in the streets of Milan. Making its Australian premiere after a successful stint at the Italian box office\, writer/director Andrea Di Stefano’s police flick stars Pierfrancesco Favino (The Hummingbird) and tells of an about-to-retire honest cop facing a chaotic\, crime-riddled\, corruption-fuelled situation. \nAlso among the event’s spotlight flicks\, Kidnapped sits in the centrepiece slot\, recreating the tale of the Vatican’s abduction of a young Jewish boy in the 19th century\, plus as the scandal that unsurprisingly followed. As part of a focus on actor\, filmmaker and screenwriter Massimo Troisi\, 1994’s The Postman\, the talent’s two-time Oscar-nominated final film\, will close out the fest with a 50s-set whirlwind of love and friendship. \nOrganised exclusively by Palace\, the festival continues to present the best new contemporary Italian cinema and most cherished classics on the big screen. For more than two decades the Festival has celebrated Italian language\, culture and la dolce vita with an ever-growing audience. \nVIVA IL CINEMA! \n
