SUMMARY:NINBELLA Gallery presents "Hot Chixx Make Art"
DESCRIPTION:WEDNESDAY 3 NOV from 5 pm to 7.30 pm \nNinbella throws opens its doors at 5pm on Wednesday November 3 for a new exhibition called Hot Chixx Make Art. This show is a celebration of the rich and diverse work of 5 extraordinary female artists\, some of whom are exhibiting for the very first time. \n  \nMELISSA LADKIN is a proud Awabakal woman of the Wonnarua nation with ties to the Githabul Bundjalung people who has been living and working on Bundjalung Country for the past 15 years. “My practice represents the multi-layered history of our people and our intrinsic connection to country”\, she says. Melissa has been caring for country for most of her life as a bush regenerator and her reciprocal relationship with the land is reflected in the sacred relationship she has with her material of choice\, ochre. \n  \nBest-selling author\, award-winning comedy writer\, host of award-winning TV  and now artist\, GRETEL KILLEEN debuted at Ninbella in December 2020 with a series of expressive works painted in response to the 2019/20 bushfires when Sydneysiders were advised not to leave home due to poor air quality. This next collection of works was painted during the 2021 lockdown whilst nursing a broken heart. \n  \nAfter a long stint in the UK\, TAMSIN CHANDLER returned to Byron Bay in 2019 to work as a full-time artist. Her principal interest is in human nature and this is expressed in her strangely dark and psychological works rendered in acrylics on framed boards. \n  \nMICHE BONETT-HORTON has worked in photography\, television and film most of her working life. She ran Rennie Ellis’s Scoopix library and was eventually poached by global firm\, The Image Bank\, to manage their film library. In this\, her first exhibition\, she presents a selection of extraordinary photographs taken from a helicopter hovering over the Kununurra region of the Kimberley in north-west of Western Australia. Shot on her 58th birthday\, they were taken on a mission with legendary architectural photographer John Gollings to document and preserve ancient indigenous rock art for the Kimberley Foundation run by the Melbourne Myers family. \n  \nAfter completing school in Sydney\, Brisbane artist SUSAN DOHERTY trained as a make-up and prosthetics artist\, and worked in theatre and film where her interest in the visual arts took root. Her father was an officer in the Australian Army\, which meant her family was constantly on the move\, interstate and overseas and her work reflects her experience of human nature.

SUMMARY:Tweed Regional Gallery presents "At Home - Margaret Olley & Ben Quilty"
DESCRIPTION:At Home\nMargaret Olley & Ben Quilty\nSaturday 13 November 2021 to Sunday 20 February 2022\nThe Margaret Olley Art Centre \nThis exhibition tells the story of mentorship\, art and friendship between Margaret Olley (1923–2011) and Ben Quilty (b.1973)\, two of Australia’s most celebrated artists. \nAt Home is a sublime collection of recent still life paintings by Ben Quilty alongside still lifes and interiors by Margaret Olley\, from the latter half of her extraordinary career. \nOur new\, post-COVID world inadvertently offered a context for the making of work by Quilty that finds synergy with Olley’s dedication to painting still life. During the 2020 COVID-19 lockdown Quilty turned to ordinary objects as subject matter for painting – something Olley did for many decades in her own Duxford Street home studio. \nAt Home brings their work together to reflect on the everyday as subject matter for painting and as a humble vehicle for the contemplation of humanity. \nThe Margaret Olley Estate is represented by Philip Bacon Galleries (Brisbane). Ben Quilty is represented by Jan Murphy Gallery (Brisbane) and Tolarno Galleries (Melbourne). \nA Tweed Regional Gallery initiative.

SUMMARY:Byron Bay Lighthouse Run 2021
DESCRIPTION:Byron Bay Lighthouse Run\nSunday 21 November 2021\nBeachside – Clarkes Beach Car Park\, Byron Bay\, NSW \n\nByron Bay Lighthouse Run is organised by Lisa Parkes\, with the assistance of the Lighthouse Run committee\, an amazing group of volunteers and sponsors. Now in its 15th year\, the run has grown from humble beginnings. \nNX sports are a community partner in this event. \nThe organisers take no money from the event at all – all money raised goes to charity. Each year we select different charities. We consider that some charities get huge support so\, we try to go for the underdog and smaller ventures. We also like to keep in touch with projects to see where our money has gone. Our team of committee members\, volunteers and sponsors work hard to organise the event. The participants who run or walk pay for the event\, so we like to take notice of what happens to the money. \nOn Sunday 21 November 2021 we are supporting Headspace Lismore and Indigenous Carbon Australia. \nPlease note groups of ten or more people in one transaction will receive 10% off at checkout.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n1km Kids\n$15\n21 November 2021\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n6km Individual\n$50\n21 November 2021\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n10km Individual\n$50\n21 November 2021\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nYoga Class\n$15\n21 November 2021\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n10 Minute Massage\n$5\n21 November 2021\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPre-Event Dinner\n$25\n21 November 2021
