Barrio’s Co-Owner Dan Wyllie is a close friend and whilst we were travelling in Italy we went to the Slow Food Cheese Festival and we fell in love with Italian cheese.  I am looking forward to coming to Barrio Eatery & Bar in Byron Bay\, and sharing my knowledge and experience of the history and culture of Italian cheese and gastronomy.” \nPenny Lawson loves nothing more than opening up a new wheel of cheese and seeing what the season and the age have done to the flavour and texture. SUMMARY:ADFAS - Art Deco Design and Building Decoration lecture
DESCRIPTION:Art Deco architecture from the 1920s and 30s has an immediately recognisable style and appeal. At that time\, precision machining produced perfect straight lines and curves that enhanced all aspects of these unique forward-looking designs for cinemas\, hotels\, theatres\, offices\, shops and homes. Features include streamlining\, sunbursts\, ziggurats\, eyebrows\, frozen fountains\, Egyptian themes & nautical designs. Between the wars\, this movement spread into the suburbs and the film industry used art deco design to attract cinema-goers into surreal surroundings of the picture palaces. Christopher Bradley’s talk on this unique architecture and art history will explore impressive examples in South Beach Miami\, Napier\, Cairo\, and Mumbai as well as art deco in Australia. \nDoors open for a welcome drink at 6pm.
