SUMMARY:Palace Touring - Music Film Festival
DESCRIPTION:Palace Cinemas\, in partnership with Young Henrys\, is proud to present our very first\, PALACE TOURING: 2019 MUSIC FILM FESTIVAL\, a series of the most iconic music feature films from the past 40 years. Combining a variety of musical and cinematic genres\, but all united in the myriad of emotion and life that music brings. \nWith special events hosted by Young Henrys for our Opening & Closing Nights (with a complimentary beer or cider on arrival!)*\, we’re thrilled to open with the Australian Premiere of the brand new\, stunning 4K restoration – THE DOORS: THE FINAL CUT – supervised by Oliver Stone and brought to life with a newly remastered soundtrack. A psychedelic and powerful musical portrait that brilliantly captures the furious energy of the 60s and the myth of The Doors’ iconic frontman\, Jim Morrison – the man whose music shaped an era. \nAnd to close out some of the greatest music films ever made\, we’re bringing a brand new music documentary that’s sure to join the ranks of cinema greats. Hot off the heels from its screenings at SXSW and Sydney Film Festival\, we present – THE CHILLS: THE TRIUMPH & TRAGEDY OF MARTIN PHILLIPPS\, a documentary that journeys to the heart of one of New Zealand music’s most genius and beloved bands. Told through their eccentric bandleader and his personal struggles\, as well as bracing archive footage of the glory years\, it’s a revitalising\, honest and inspiring tribute to a great band.

SUMMARY:Bangalow Music Festival
DESCRIPTION:The Bangalow Music Festival\, owned\, operated and presented by Southern Cross Soloists\, is a major event in the Australian arts calendar. Now in its 18th year\, the Festival maintains a strong tradition of presenting world-class chamber music performances. Set against the beautiful backdrop of the northern New South Wales hinterland\, it is no wonder that audiences return year after year to experience everything the Festival has to offer. \nThe 2019 Festival will explore concepts that have been at the core of Southern Cross Soloists for many years. Audiences will be taken on a journey of discovery through the language of music\, as their musicians expose and demonstrate the level of communication and collaboration it takes to truly present Conversations Through Chamber Music.
