At these markets you’ll enjoy a taste of the local food, music and vibe.  Whether it be the latest tie dyed creation, a dream catcher, soy candles, nanna’s relish, butterbox honey, take home your little piece of Byron.

Byron Bay Community Market

The Byron Bay Community Market (02 6685 6807) is held at the Butler Street reserve in Byron Bay on the first Sunday of each month plus two special summer markets on the 3rd Sunday in December and January.

Byron Bay’s market is one of the biggest in the area, with several acres of neatly-arranged stalls selling an enormous variety of special hand-crafted items, exotic imports, fresh produce and take-away food.   High quality jewellery, furniture, pottery, skin care products, candles and clothes jostle with plants, garden furniture and sculpture.

Byron Farmers Market

Every Thursday morning at the Butler Street reserve from 8-11am, the farmers and growers of the area come together for the Byron Farmers Market (02 6687 1137).  All manner of fresh produce, including fruit and vegetables, herbs, free range eggs, organic coffee, seedlings and plants, fresh beef and pork, smoked fish, cut flowers including spectacular roses, as well as sauces, pickles, muffins, cakes and bread are on sale.  Come early as the goods sell out quickly.

How to get there:  Butler Street runs from the roundabout outside the Police Station alongside the railway line.  If you are already in town, leave your car and walk across the railway line, either on the car crossing at the roundabout, or from the car park behind the Byron Visitor Centre.  There is limited parking in Butler Street and Somerset Street.
